Our 40 Year Timeline

As we celebrate our 40th anniversary this year, it’s the perfect time to reflect on the incredible journey that has brough us to where we are today. We look forward to sharing with you some of the remarkable milestones we’ve achieved.

Let these milestones be stepping stones for the exciting journey ahead.

1984: Wormall Contracting commenced operations on 08/12/1984 as an underground contractor, primarily subcontracting to main contractors. Wormall Contracting were then members of AERCF which later became CCF, where Ray Wormall was on the committee.

1992: Wormall Contracting moved into a new office and workshop in Maddington, after years of working out of the family home in Cardup.

1997: Wormall Contracting were the first civil contracting company in WA to be awarded Bureau of Veritas quality assurance certification. During this period the team were also doing research and development of new and innovative sewerage and drainage products as well as pollution traps.

2002: The company become main contractor taking on both below and above ground civil infrastructure provision, this then enables the team to purchase road building equipment. Purchase of the first CAT 12 Grader to join the growing fleet to meet client demands.

2005 – 2008: Now operating as Wormall Civil, the company experienced exponential growth in a flourishing land development market under the management of Craig Wormall.

2011: Wormall civil turnover approximately $100M.

2013 – 2014: the land development market in Western Australia spikes in line with the mining sector strength. Wormall Civil now firmly established as a Tier 1 Civil Contractor.

2014 – 2015: Wormall Civil has consolidated its position in a constrained WA land development market.

2015 – 2016: Wormall Civil starts construction of the new state of the art office and workshop in Cardup, with completion by September with full relocation of Wormall Civil personnel.

2017: Shane Wormall becomes Managing Director of Wormall Civil, and moves Smartstream Technology to join Wormall Civil at our premises in Cardup.

2019: Wormall Civil adds traffic management, dewatering management & boring to its in-house capabilities and celebrated 35 years of continuous service.

2020: South West acquisition of Cowara Contractors officially taking place 07/012/2020 and is the beginning of our move into the South West region.

2020: Constructed 2,406 residential lots between June- December 2020 due to government stimulus package.

2021: Wormall Civil establish a satellite office is Osborne Park.

2022: Wormall Civil establishes a Reconciliation Action Plan committee to commence our Reconciliation journey.

2023: acquisition of limestone block manufacturing plant based in Myalup, to place Wormall Civil in a better position to service our South West and Peel projects.

2024: Wormall Civil celebrates 40 Years of operations.
