Over my time working at Wormall Civil, I have had many different job roles and experiences. I first started as a general labourer in December, 2009, straight out of high school. My first ever task was helping a drainer named Murph to hammer holes in stormwater liners. Since then I was a drainers offsider for the first 4 months of my employment, elevated to a drainer shortly after 4/5 months of a drainers offsider and began working along side Troy Wormall for a few years. I’ve had a few great operators over the journey and learnt a lot through some of the experienced drainers over time. Worked as a drainer for Wormall Civil a little over 8 years and once my son was born I realised I had more to work for then just myself and my wife. I applied myself and it was rewarded with a Supervisor role in late 2017 which has been challenging but also rewarding. To this day I’m still enjoying the process of constructing a project from start to finish and everything in between.
I first got involved in the industry as my father worked for Wormall Civil so he got me the job. My first placement was Vertu Estate in Harrisdale, Rod Wormall was my first supervisor. Wormall Civil has evolved to a power house civil construction company over the time I’ve been employed. It’s been awesome to come along with the journey.
I have a lot of memories at Wormall Civil.. but ultimately Wormall Civil has provided me over the years to create so many memories in and outside of work. I’ve learnt a few from starting as a stubborn teenager to where I am today. Thing is you never stop learning, always strive to better yourself and your family. I have worked on a lot of projects at Wormall Civil but Seaside Estate would be my favourite. The team I’ve been involved with here has been great and I’m looking forward to continuing to watch this project unfold.
