Description
Located in the much sought after South Beach precinct close to the Fremantle CBD, this project presented Wormall Civil with some of the most challenging civil and environmental construction tasks the company had ever undertaken.
This environmentally sensitive site had previously been used as rail marshalling yards, a tip site and foundry, with asbestos, pesticides and heavy metals present within the soils.
Meticulous planning and scheduling of the civil works was necessary to accommodate the staged removal of decommissioned water, sewer, gas and electrical power supplies.
Early access to adjacent lots for sale had to be provided for during construction, requiring additional stringent safety measures, such as temporary fencing, pathways and signage.
